Big Audio was the surprise winner of the Chesham Stakes giving trainer Richard Hannon his third winner of the meeting and jockey, Richard Hughes his fourth. He took up the running a furlong and ahalf from the line but ran very green when in front. However he hung on gamely to win by a short head from the very fats finsjing Emperor Claudius. Party Doctor was third.
