2009 Coventry Stakes Result
Canford Cliffs trained by Richard Hannon and ridden by Richard Hughes bolted up to win by six lengths in a mightily impressive performance which has effectively set the benchmark for two year olds this season. He has been installed as 8/1 favourite for the 2010 Two Thousand Guineas and it is difficult to see what could beat him at the moment. A strong finsh by the Clive Cox trained Xtension just stole second place from Jamie Spencer on Rakaan. For punters it was another excellent result Canford Cliffs being the third favourite to win from four races on Day One.
- 1st Canford Cliffs – 7/4 Fav
- 2nd Xtension – 20/1
- 3rd Rakaan – 28/1
The Coventry Stakes 2008 Result
Art Connoisseur sat last off a strong pace, although no more than four lengths back as the field raced fanned out up the middle of the track. Switched widest to the stands side wing to challenge, he showed a fine turn of foot to lead within a furlong of starting his burst. Ridden right out, he stayed on strongly.
1. Art Connoisseur (J P Spencer) 8-1
2. Intense Focus (K J Manning) 12-1
3. Lord Shanakill (D Sweeney) 12-1

The Coventry Stakes 2007 Result
The first race of the 2007 Royal Ascot was all about Henrythenavigator trained by Aiden O'Brien and ridden by Mick Kinane and won in good fashion racing up with the pace on the far side before challenging Pencil Hill in the last two furlongs to take it up inside the final furlong. Interestingly it looks like the best ground will be up the middle of the track as that is where the first three finished.
1. Henrythenavigator (MJ Kinane) 11-4f
2. Swiss Franc (Ted Durcan) 25-1
3. Luck Money (Richard Quinn) 13-2

The Coventry Stakes 2005 Result
This looked a good renewal and it went to Red Clubs for the Barry Hills stable and it attracted a particularly good-looking field, with twelve previous winners among them - six of them unbeaten. They all came up the centre of the track and the winner broke the standard time, despite a strong crosswind and won well by 1 and 3/4 lengths.
1 Red Clubs 11-2
2 Pacific Pride 66-1
3 Amadeus Wolf 9-1
