Ascot Gold Cup Betting 2012 - Fame And Glory
Fame And Glory has proven to be one of the best names in flat racing over the past couple of years and he proved that at the 2011 Royal meeting when he hacked up to win the Ascot Gold Cup in some style. All the indications are that he will be back in 2012 and aimed towards the same race again by Aidan O'Brien, he was of course the trainer who led Yeats to four successive wins and he clearly has the golden touch in this race.
Much was made before the 2011 race about his stamina worries but Fame And Glory simply outclassed the field to win in some style and on that form he could be a major force to be reckoned with over the next few years. He was a top class three-year-old with only Sea The Stars better then him and followed that up with a good run in the Arc in 2010 and a win in the Coronation Cup the same season. It was felt that Ballydoyle had a number of good horses over the mile-and-half trip which meant Fame And Glory was upped in trip and that seems to have paid off so far with the highlight coming in the 2011 Ascot Gold Cup.
