Alkimos, taking the route employed by last year´s winner, israted a potential improver by the same stable and is on the not-so-shortshortlist, along with the progressive Tazahum and the unexposed Marksmanship. But there may be more to come from SLUMBER,who was beaten by two good horses in the Chester Vase but looked uneasyon the track and should be rated better than the bare form.

The Hampton Court is run over the 1 mile 2 furlong course with Zaham going off the 7/2 favourite. In the race Kid Mambo led the field with Zaham in second stalking the leader with Tranquil Tiger going well on the inside but Zaham took it up in the final furlong but Kid Mambo fought back and Al Shemali was finishing best of all on the outside but Zaham just held on by a head for a third winning favourite on the day.
