Royal Ascot Hardwicke Stakes Betting - Await The Dawn The Favourite
The Hardwicke Stakes is a really good race for the 5th day of the Royal Ascot meeting and is for older horses over the 1 mile 4 furlong course and is a group 2. The Royal Ascot betting on the Hardwicke Stakes is always interesting as the runners are all well established and a lot will depend on the current form of the trainers and ground conditions. Last season we had a top class winner in Harbinger who of course went onto greatness so it is a race that is always worth watching closely.
This year the clear favourite for the Hardwicke is the exciting Await The Dawn who was so impressive last time out for Aidan O'Brien at Chester, he looked a class act that day and should go off a warm favourite for todays race.

Hardwicke Stakes Racecard
AWAIT THE DAWN has looked up to winning at the top level when easily taking Group 3s on his last two starts and should be very hard to beat in this Group 2. He gave the very strong impression at Chester last time that a step up to 1m4f will be well within range. Calvados Blues can chase him home.

2009 Hardwicke Stakes Result
A blistering pace was set by outsider, Barshiba for the first nine furlongs, however once she had been reeled in it was only favourite, Campanologist and Bronze Cannon who were able to quicken. Campanologist looked very inch the winner half a furlong out, but a stirring finish by Jimmy Fortune on Bronze Cannon was enough to win as they approached the line. Dansant ran on to be third.
- 1st Bronze Cannon - 8/1
- 2nd Campanologist - 2/1 Fav
- 3rs Dansant - 8/1
Hardwicke Stakes 2008 Result
Macarthur did not look the likely winner off the home turn as he was rowed along more urgently than many, and it was only into the dying strides that he got the better of Multidimensional as they pulled clear.
