The Kind Edward is looking particularly hot this year with a number of eye catching runners going to post, and perhaps the one to beat is World Domination who should take his chance for Henry Cecil. He was considered a Derby contender until he was below par in the Dante but will go close if he is at his best today. Another one to watch is Nathaniel who ran well at Chester last month and is likely to go off favourite for John Gosden.

This strong renewal can go to NATHANIEL, who gave subsequent Derby second Treasure Beach a fight in the Chester Vase despite seeming ill at ease on that track. Mijhaar could not have been more impressive at Haydock and is feared most.

Ridden superbly by Eddie O'Herne, he was held up until the final furlong then unleashed and won with plenty to spare from the fast finishing Your Old Pal, with Derby flop, Black Bear Island in third. Father Time looked every inch a St Leger runner on this performance

  • 1st Father Time - 9/1
  • 2nd Your Old Pal - 14/1
  • 3rd Black Bear Island - 9/2

The King Edward brings out the Epsom Derby runners and derby 4th Lucano went off at 5/2 favourite with Salford Mill sixth in the Derby at 11/2 but the gamble of the race was Lions Sands backed down from 14/1 in places in the morning to go off 4/1 second favourite. Boscobel took them along and the Mark Johnston runner just galloped them into the ground whish is a familiar story for his runners with Lucano trying hard to get to him but was unable to do so, with Yellowstone in third.

1. Bosobel (Joe Fanning) 7-1
2. Lucarno (Jimmy Fortune) 5-2f
3. Yellowstone (Johnny Murtagh) 8-1
