Queen Anne Stakes

Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes 2010

Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes BettingThe Queen Anne is always an interesting Royal Ascot betting race for 4 year olds and over the mile course. This race always attracts a top class field and is the first major test for some of the previous year's best milers to see if they have trained on over the winter. The Royal Ascot betting on the Queen Ann Stakes is one that tends to challenge punters as it can be difficult to assess who has trained on over the winter however you can get all the Royal Ascot free bets right here.

This has the look of a fantastic race over the mile straight course, we are being treated to some real superstars in the Queen Anne Stakes this year. The likes of Rip Van Winkle, Goldikova and Paco Boy are all set to take their chances in what could potentially be the highlight of the entire meeting, Goldikova is twice a winner at the Breeders Cup while Paco Boy and Rip Van Winkle are also Group 1 winners in their own right.

Quen Anne Stakes Form Guide 2010

The Queen Anne Stakes looks set to be a cracking race this year with three main contenders lining up for the first race of the Royal meeting;

Paco Boy

Paco Boy is the one in the race with the best form this year after he won the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in April, he won in some style that day but will need to overturn losses to Rip Van Winkle and Goldikova in the past. Reported to be in fine form by Ricarhd Hannon and with Richard Hughes on board for the ride looks to have a real chance in the Queen Anne Stakes. Came in behind Rip Van Winkle in the Sussex Stakes last year and will need to find something extra to overturn that result.

Rip Van Winkle

A group 1 winner in 2009 at Glorious Goodwood in the Sussex Stakes beating Paco Boy and will be making his seasonal debut at Royal Ascot in the Queen Anne Stakes for Aiden O'Brien and Johnny Murtagh. Last seen in the Breeders Cup Classic in November when he disapointed but is a class horse on his day and should not be ruled out if he has progressed as hoped over the winter.

Goldikova

Goldikova is a supertsar having won back-to-back Breeders Cup mile races at Santa Anita and may go into the Queen Anne as the favourite ahead of Paco Boy and Rip Van Winkle. Goldikova won last time out as well at Longchamp back in May in a good field including Byword so looks to have the form and class needed to triumph here if on top form.
