Wolferton Handicap Stakes

Royal Ascot Wolferton Handicap Stakes - Beachfire Wins

The Wolferton handicap is a listed race for 3 year olds and older over the 1 mile 2 furlong course. The Royal Ascot Odds on the Wolferton handicap is a race full of intrigue and is a very difficult one for punters to assess with a big field going to post. All the best Free Bets are available through this site.

Rainbow Peak was the winner of this one last season for connections and he was the well backed favourite. This year the warm jolly is likely to be Green Destiny who swerved the Hunt Cup earlier in the week for this one and looks set to take all the beating.

The pace he set was only ordinary and that would not have been to the advantage of the hold-up horses, among whom the chief sufferers looked to be Halicarnassus and the favourite Monte Alto. The Hughie Morrison-trained winner had run well to finish third off a 4lb lower mark on his first try at this trip at York last month and, in a race in which nothing else wanted to go on, he was able to dictate at his own pace, which caused several of his rivals to take a grip. Having stacked the opposition up, he quickened off the final bend and had enough in reserve to hold the challengers.
