2009 Wokingham Stakes Result

High Standing for trainer William Haggas was the winner of the Wokingham and in so doing she provided jockey, Ryan Moore with a third winner of the meeting. Amazingly, Moore has had eight second places too as well as a third. Asset ridden by Frankie dettori ran a solid race to be second, while outsider, Rose Of Rochelle ran on to be third. Wokingham Stakes 2008 Result

There was the usual furious pace and they split into two groups. Seven stuck steadfastly to the inside rail with Conquest surprisingly putting the pace to the race there with Capricorn Run, looking to be a couple of lengths clear of the main stands“ side pack after a couple of furlongs. However, there was precious little in it between both sides at the line, with stands“ side runners occupying the second, fourth and fifth spots.

This was the first Royal Ascot winner for trainer Andrew Balding but it will not be the last as 22-1 chance Dark Missile finished strongest to win the Wokingham Stakes under the talented William Buick.

A winner for Hugh Morrison with Baltic King who loves it at the Berkshire track and in his second Ascot Race at the festival came good holding the favourite by one and half lengths at the line.

Wokingham Stakes 2005 Result

Iffraaj was a well back favourite and he gave his supporters very little cause for concern as he was always travelling like the winner and took it up with two furlongs to go to win by a very smooth 2 lengths. Trainer Michael Jarvis will be very pleased with this performance as he has a really nice horse to work with here.
